Come join us at our launch!
Amie: Well, after 2021 lasting approximately a decade, we’re both so excited to have made it into 2022 — we have brand new books to tell you about, and a virtual event we’d love to see you at!
Meg: Yes! Let’s hit that first — we’re joining with one of our all-time favourite bookstores, Books of Wonder, for a launch event to celebrate Beyond the End of the World.
You can click here to book a free ticket, and international attendees are welcome.
Amie: So depending on where you are, the event is at:
6pm EST on Jan 19th — USA
11pm GMT on Jan 19th — UK
10am AEST on Jan 20th — Australia
We wish we could see you all at in-person events, but we’d genuinely love to celebrate this book with you and answer all your questions, so please do grab a free ticket and come join us.
If you buy a copy of the book from Books of Wonder, while stocks last it’ll come with a bookplate signed by both of us, and these two gorgeous art prints by Nicole Deal.
Beyond the End of the World
Meg: The book we’re celebrating at our virtual launch, Beyond The End of the World, is out on January 18th, and with readers just days away from getting their hands on it, we’re so excited to hear what you think. We poured our hearts and souls into this book, and we’re really proud of how it’s turned out. Early readers seem to be enjoying themselves…
Amie: You can actually take a sneak peek at the start by clicking right here — but be warned the excerpt starts with a recap of book one, so there are spoilers aplenty!
Meg: The series is a duology, so you’ll get a full conclusion in this book, and that recap of book one is also in the front of Beyond the End of the World, in case you’re like us and find it helpful to have your memory jogged. If you’re in the US, you can also pick up the paperback of book one right now.
Amie: Here’s what it’s about:
Nimh still holds on to her divinity, if only by a thread.
In her final confrontation with Inshara, the woman determined to take her place and rule Nimh’s kingdom, both Nimh and her enemy were sent to the world above, in the cloudlands.
Now North looks to the sky, left behind on the surface world.
Desperate for a chance to join the girl he loves and save his home, North will stop at nothing to find a way back to the sky-city of Alciel, before it’s too late to save anyone.
But more awaits them in the world above than North or Nimh could ever expect. And as they come together and team up with allies from above and below, they face the ultimate test of their bond, their abilities, and their belief in each other in a quest to save their worlds.
Vivid, compelling, and absolutely magnetic, this much-anticipated sequel to New York Times bestselling authors Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner’s The Other Side of the Sky has something for every reader: a star-crossed love full of tantalizing longing, unique and immersive new worlds to explore, and nonstop thrills that escalate into an unforgettably electric conclusion.
Meg: If you preorder, pick up a copy for yourself, or recommend it to a friend, a thousand thank-yous. We’re really excited for you to read it, and we both appreciate your support so much. Remember, you can click here to book a free ticket to the launch!
Rebellion of the Lost
Amie: As if one book wasn’t enough, I’ve got two coming out this month — and this is it for the rest of 2022, so you’ll have plenty of reading time! If you have a reader aged 8 - 12 in your life, or one who’s a little younger than that who likes to read bedtime stories with you, this one’s for you.
Meg: The World Between Blinks: Rebellion of the Lost, came out on January 4th in the US, and is coming on Feb 2nd in Australia! It’s the conclusion to Amie’s middle grade series, co-authored with Ryan Graudin, and it’s as packed full of adventure as the first.
Amie: It has some of my favourite historical moments ever in it, and some of my favourite lost things. There’s an entire mountain made of missing ballpoint pens (I know I contributed a few to it myself) and a communication system made up of messages in bottles and lost, undelivered emails.
Here’s what it’s about:
When Jake and Marisol return unexpectedly to the World Between Blinks, they find that nothing is as they left it. The Administrator is on an unstoppable mission, ordering his Curators to catalog absolutely everyone and everything as if they’re exhibits in a museum.
With rebels like Amelia Earhart and Queen Nefertiti facing the threat of their hourglasses of memories being flipped, Jake and Marisol, along with Marisol’s big brother, Victor, must locate a mysterious item known as the Rocket. This unknown object is their only chance to defeat the Administrator—before everything that makes the World wonderful is lost, in a whole new way.…
You can click here to find it at your favourite retailer — I hope you love the way the story wraps up!
And that’s it for now!
Meg: In 2022 we’re digging into our next project together — it’s not like anything we’ve done before, and we’re having so much fun with it. We’re looking forward to telling you all about it, as well as some of the other books we’ve got in the works!
Amie: One thing to follow along with in 2022 will be my new podcast, Pub Dates, in which I’ll take you behind the scenes on my 2023 release, The Isles of the Gods, talking through everything from the editorial process to cover design to plans for launch. You can find Pub Dates wherever you get your podcasts, or listen to the preview right here — it’ll start up for real in about March.
For now, though, it’s back to our desks, and on with the writing! We hope we’ll see you at our launch — here’s that free ticket link one more time!
